DVAS to carry out feasibility study in emergency accommodation for women

A feasibility study into emergency accommodation for women in Sligo and Leitrim is to be undertaken by the
Domestic Violence Advocacy Service (DVAS).

Currently there is no emergency accommodation in the region for women and children needing to flee a domestic violence situation.

DVAS will carry out the study as part of their five year strategy and communications plan.

The launch of the plan will be hosted by Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Martin Baker in Councillor Chambers on Thursday.

Carmel McNamee DVAS Manager explained about the emergency accommodation feasibility study to Ocean FM news.
