Roads in Sligo and Leitrim are to benefit from Storm Damage grants totalling over €1 million.
Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross made the announcement this morning which will see roads in Sligo being allocated €600,000 and roads in Leitrim receiving €500,000.
The new Special Maintenance Grant will assist in the repair of regional and local roads damaged by severe weather events.
Independent Alliance Councillor Marie Casserly said the region needs every penny it can get and further applications for funding would be made in the new year.
