Gardai warn about counterfeit 50-euro notes

Gardai in Sligo are warning businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit €50 notes.

The notes are said to be of good quality and are difficult to tell apart from actual money.

Gardai have intercepted two youths on theft from a petrol shop and identified them as being two of the youths involved in tendering the notes.

So far, six businesses have been targeted.

Meanwhile Sligo Gardai have also seized a vehicle containing stolen alloys and are asking anyojne who may have had alloys stolen recently to contact them at Sligo Garda Station on 071 9157000.
