Donegal Councillor is calling for historic Killybegs building to be protected



A South Donegal councillor is calling for action to be taken to protect a historic building in Killybegs that’s in a poor state of repair.

It’s known as the Murray Lodge, which Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy says is too good to let rot and fall down.

She raised the issue at a meeting of councillors from the Donegal Municipal District during a discussion on the future of the historic clock tower in Ballyshannon.

She said it was a similar situation with the Murray Lodge and she suggested a letter be sent to the owner about it.
