Over 33,000 people are currently awaiting an inpatient or day case appointment in the North West.
According to latest figures from the NTPF, 63 of those patients in Letterkenny have been waiting over a year and a half while 10 patients ate waiting 9-12 months in Sligo for an appointment.
Nationally, there’s been a drop of 16% in the overall number of patients on waiting lists.
Latest figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show nationwide, the number of patients waiting for an inpatient or day case procedure now stands at 72,700, down from the peak of 86,100 in July 2017.
