New disabled parking signs to be erected throughout Donegal



New disabled parking signs are to be put up throughout County Donegal.

Ten of the signs will be erected in each of the five municipal districts.

At this week’s meeting of the Donegal Municipal District, Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy asked how the message on the signs will be enforced.

Councillors heard that in places where there was not a traffic warden, it was a matter for the gardai, as well as relying on the goodwill of the public.

While welcoming anything that discourages motorists from parking in disabled areas, Cllr. Kennedy wondered about the signs’ effectiveness:
