Funding sought for Donegal’s Bluestack Foundation’s longterm needs



There are calls for adequate public funding be given to a South Donegal group that provides services for people with special needs.

Earlier this year, the Bluestack Special Needs Foundation in Donegal Town got a once-off grant of €36,000 from the HSE.

But Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty says a solution is needed to help the foundation meet its longterm funding needs.

The foundation, set up in 2006, provides training and support to people and families dealing with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.

Deputy Doherty says groups like the Bluestack Foundation should not have to depend entirely on fundraising by volunteers:
