Creed says budget supports will mitigate Brexit risks

The Minister for Agriculture says he believes the supports announced in the Budget to mitigate the risk posed by Brexit will help.

Minister Michael Creed says the total package is worth nearly €80m with €20m going towards a beef environmental efficiency measure.

He says the the ANC increase in payments is also welcome.

The Minister has rejected claims that it was a poor budget for the farming and fishing sectors, saying money was also set aside for the improvement of the harbour at Killybegs:

He spoke to Claire Mulcahy on Agri-Week this week.
