Broadband vital in getting the most from Rural Town and Village investment scheme



The renovation of three enterprise units in Drumkeerin in county Leitrim is welcome but dependent on the area getting a reliable broadband connection.

Three of the six units in the village have been renovated already but they have struggled to attract businesses in recent years because of the poor broadband connection in the area.

Fianna Fail Councillor in the area Mary Bohan hopes this will be rectified in the next year as the community has now secured over €43,000 to renovate the other three units.

The money was allocated to the Drumkeerin Tourist and Development company as part of the Government’s 2018 Town and Village Renewal Scheme on Friday.

But Mary Bohan says in order to make the best use of these new units a good broadband connection is vital:
