Politicians clash over Killybegs harbour funding



There is ‘outrage’ in the Killybegs area amid fears that ten million euro worth of work at the local harbour may not go ahead as planned.

Fianna Fail Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher says an extension and improvements to the centre were expected to start about now but he fears the money may be going elsewhere.

However, Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh insists the government has invested heavily in Killybegs this year with €6.5m already spent on the harbour and €4m more to come.

But Deputy Gallagher wants clarification on why the second phase of work has been delayed:
