Only one flight affected in Knock airport last night as a result of closure of Irish airspace



An investigation is underway after a radar problem at an air traffic control base at Shannon caused the closure of the majority of Irish airspace last night.

Flights into and out of Cork and Shannon were also suspended for a time – but they’re now running again.

The London flight from Ireland West Airport Knock had to be cancelled as a result but the airport has confirmed to Ocean FM this morning that everything is back to normal today.

Dublin Airport Authority has confirmed that that the Dublin air traffic control system is unaffected and flights are operating normally.
