Sligo/Leitrim TD accuses government of obstructing rural development



Fianna Fáil TD for Sligo-Leitrim Eamon Scanlon has accused the Fine Gael government of obstructing rural development through its “hands-off approach”.

Deputy Scanlon was commenting following the launch of Fianna Fáil’s 10 point action plan to address the fodder and farm income crises.

Farmers across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have to face major difficulties over the past year with a fodder crisis, exacerbated by a long, wet winter.

Deputy Scanlon feels now the Government have to act now to support agriculture especially with the challenges of Brexit looming large.
