Leitrim publican says focus should be on health and housing instead of labelling alcohol



A Leitrim publican says tackling alcohol smuggling should be a priority before putting health warning on alcohol products.

Politicians in the north west are divided on the new Public Health Alcohol Bill which was debated in the Dail for four hours this week.

One of the provisions in the bill is to highlight the risk of cancer from alcohol by putting warning labels on products.

But Leitrim publican and local Independent Councillor Felim Gurn says there are a lot of more urgent issues that the government should be focusing on:
