Success for north west’s towns and villages in national tidy towns competition



There was success a plenty for many local towns and villages at yesterday’s National Super Value Tidy Towns finals which were held in the Helix Centre in Dublin.

There were Gold medals for Keadue in Roscommon in Category A, while Coolaney also scooped gold in Category C.

Letterkenny finished with Gold in Category G, while Buncranna enjoyed a similar success in “E” category.

In Category G Letterkenny also finished top.

Sligo Town enjoyed sliver medal success in category G.

Glenties scooped a Bronze medal in their Section B category.

The various County Award Winners included:

Donegal  – Letterkenny

Leitrim – Carrick-on-Shannon

Sligo –        Coolaney

 

The following Towns were also Highly Commended

Buncranna, Riverstown, Drumshanbo and Ballintogher in Sligo

 

The Chairperson of the Sligo Tidy Towns Group, Peter Tiernan has paid tribute to all the towns and villages from the North West that were successful at yesterday’s National awards ceremony in Dublin.

The Sligo Chairperson says the various category success was a fitting reward for the hard work carried by all the various volunteers right across the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
