The HSE denies there will be any delay to the construction of the new psychiatric unit at Sligo University Hospital.

Politicians raised concerns earlier this week that the project could be delayed far beyond the planned opening timeline of 2020.

But in a statement today, the HSE denies this and says earlier this week the HSE approved the construction contract for the new 25-bed unit.

The current unit st. Columba’s in Ballytivnan will close.
