Man expected before court in connection with Sligo stabbing



A man in his 30s is expected to be brought before a court later arising from a Garda investigation into a stabbing in Sligo town on Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred on the Strandhill Road, to where the emergency services were called at about half past eight.

The the victim, also in his 30s, sustained injuries to the head and neck, and was brought to Sligo University Hospital.

It’s understood his injuries were not life-threatening.

A man was arrested and has since been detained at Ballymote Garda Station.
