Carrick community ‘hugely disappointed’ at move of whiskey distillery to Ardara



The community of Carrick in Donegal is hugely disappointed that a planned new whiskey distillery will move to Ardara.

There was a huge turnout to a public meeting on the issue in the old school in Carrick village last night.

The meeting was called in an effort by the local community to get the promoters of the Sliabh Liag whiskey distillery project to change their mind and keep the planned distillery in Carrick.

The loss of the potential jobs that would be created from the project is also a huge blow for Carrick.

Chairperson of the meeting, Glencolmcille-resident and Director of Oideas Gael, Liam Ó’Cuinneagáin says it’s hugely disappointing to lose such a project in the Carrick/Kilcar area:
