Allegations of abuse of referees prompts calls for the GAA to act



There are calls for the GAA to look into the abuse of referees after an alleged incident in Donegal last weekend after an Under 14s match.

It’s reported the referee of the Naomh Brid/Pettigo and Red Hugh’s Killygordon game had to be locked into his dressing room after some supporters became rowdy.

Donegal GAA told Ocean FM News today that any alleged incident should be noted in the referees report and would be subsequently investigated.

But Brian Gavin, a four time All Ireland Senior Hurling Final Referee, says he isn’t surprised to hear of this incident.
