Local schools express satisfaction with junior cert results



Over three and a half thousand students are receiving their Junior Cert results in the North West today.

In Donegal 2,207 students will be picking up their results, in Sligo 871 while Leitrim registered the smallest numbers of students to sit the state exam nationally, with just 425 Students.

Compared to last year’s Exam the numbers of those sitting the Junior Cert have risen by 1.5%.

Local Schools are expressing their satisfaction with the results.

Principal of St Clare’s Comprehensive School in Manorhamilton, John Irwin is particularly happy with how the students of the school surpassed the national average in a number of the pillar subjects such as English, Maths and Irish.
