Post mortem to take place on body of Polish man

A post mortem is expected to take place today on the body of the Polish man who died after getting into difficulty yesterday along the West Sligo shoreline.

It’s understood 36-year old Konrad Mencawicz had been fishing in the Templepatrick area, near Dunmoran Strand.

He was airlifted by Coast Guard helicopter from the area yesterday afternoon and taken to Sligo University Hospital.

He had been living in Oakfield Crescent in Sligo and was working in the Finisklin area.

It’s understood members of his family are in route from Poland to Sligo.
