Motion by a Sligo Councillor to call for ban on fur farming defeated



A motion by a Sligo Councillor to have fur farming banned in Ireland went to a vote this week.

Councillors are split on this controversial issue but in the end the motion by Gino O’Boyle to call for an end to fur farming was defeated by 1 vote at Sligo County Council.

The People Before Profit Councillor says there are still such farms operating in the North West including one in county Donegal.
