Agriculture Minister says no easy solution to fodder issues



The Agriculture Minister says even if we commandeered all the trucks and boats we still couldn’t import enough grain to solve the fodder crisis.

Michael Creed has been answering questions on the weather related shortages before the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee.

He’s outlined the supports that have been put in place for farmers, including an increase in grain imports to 85-thousand tonnes.

But Minister Creed says volumes are down across Europe and therefore we have to continue to conserve fodder:
