Leitrim IFA to call for an end to planting in the county



Senior members of the Irish Farmers Association have been to Leitrim to see first hand the issues like forestry and fodder that are concerning local members.

The IFA President Joe Healy led the trip where they visited Drumshanbo mart and Drumkeerin as part of the trip.

They then met local IFA members as part of the trip at a county executive branch meeting on Thursday evening.

Chairperson of the IFA in Leitrim James Gallagher says forestry remains the key concern among members in Leitrim and he says they are now suggesting to National Council that no more plantations should be approved for the county of Leitrim:
