A Sligo councillor says a new post office is to be established the village of Coolaney.
A limited service is currently available there at present.
But Independent Councillor Marie Casserly says An Post is now advertising for a new post master or post mistress to run a full-service post office.
The news comes as numerous post offices in the north west are either facing closure or shutting down completely.
