Knock Shrine to open at 5am ahead of Pope visit



Carparks for those going to Knock to see the Pope on Sunday will open 3am.

Gardai in Claremorris have been working closely with Mayo County Council on a traffic management place and say the Shrine itself will open at 5am that morning.

Gardai are urging anyone travelling to the event from the North West by bus or car to follow the traffic managament plan in place which will divert people Charlestown via the N5.

People not going to the event are reminded that the N17 will be closed between Charlestown and Claremorris from midnight on Saturday until at least 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
