Dublin hotels faring best in two-tier economic recovery

A two-speed recovery has been a factor in the slow rise of hotel prices outside of Dublin.

Tourist numbers visiting the country are on the rise, however the rate of recovery between Dublin and the rest of the country post-recession is a factor.

Among those seeing this first hand are hotels throughout the region.

Elizabeth McIntyre is director of the Allingham Arms Hotel in Bundoran, which has just been awarded four-star status by Failte Ireland.

Her father, the late Sean McEniff bought the Allingham when it was a 24-bed hotel in 1990.

It now has 132 ensuite rooms and employs 90 staff.

Obtaining four-star status is an important development for the hotel.
