Leitrim sees largest increase in .ie domain registrations

Leitrim has seen the largest percentage increase for new .ie domain name registrations.

The figure comes from an IE Domain Registery report that shows Leitrim has increased by 113% compared to this time last year.

The North West overall has seen an increase with Co. Donegal rising by 32% and Sligo 23%.

CEO of the IE Domain Registery, David Curtin, says that an increase in online activity among businesses across the North West is a ‘leading indicator of Ireland’s broader economic growth.’

However in contrast to this, a report published by the Insolvency Service of ireland shows that 14 applications for bankruptcies are made each year.

119 businesses were declared bankrupt in the North West in the last four years.

66 applications were made in Co. Donegal, 35 in Sligo and 18 in Leitrim.
