Cawley pleased to get among the goals this season

Midfielder David Cawley says he will make his Sligo Rovers colleagues pay up if he continues to lead the club’s goalscoring charts at the end of the season.

The Ballina native signed a two-and-a-half year extension to his Bit O’ Red deal yesterday after an impressive few months back at the club for his second spell.

Having netted four times already this season, he is level with striker Adam Morgan in the top-scoring charts, though the former Liverpool striker has now departed the club following an injury-plagued season.

Cawley says getting among the goals has been satisfying for him this season…

Sligo Rovers face Derry City twice in the next four days, with tomorrow’s league game at the Brandywell to be followed by Monday’s EA Sports Cup semi-final at the Showgrounds.
