New First Responder service to be launched in Ardara

A new cardiac First Responder service will be launched this week in south west Donegal.

The Ardara Cardiac First Responders will go live with the National Ambulance Service from Wednesday at noon, when it will be launched at an event in Shanaghan House, Ardara.

From then, the service will be responding directly to 999 emergency calls for people with various critical emergencies, such as chest pains, suspected heart attacks or strokes and choking incidents.

Teague McFadden, chairpersopn of Ardara Cardiac First Responders, has been telling Ocean FM News why the service is so important in this part of County Donegal.
