Letterkenny University Hospital most overcrowded in the country today again

Letterkenny University Hospital is the most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today with 35 people awaiting admission.

In the Northwest there are 42 people on trolleys, with 7 waiting on a bed in Sligo University Hospital.

Nationally, there were 333 people waiting at hospitals across the country today – Letterkenny University Hospital accounts for 12% of this overall total.

The nationwide figure is 342, an increase of 19% on the same day last year when there were 287 patients on trolleys.
