Leitrim Councillor calls for Abbey Manor to be sold



A Leitrim councillor is calling on the owners of the former Abbey Manor Hotel in Dromahair to put the building up for sale.

The hotel has been closed since 2009.

It was vandalised inside and there have been numerous complaints about the deteriorating condition of the building, which is a protected structure in the centre of the picturesque village.

Work has been now carried out on the exterior of the hotel following a notice from Leitrim County Council.

But at a Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting of Leitrim County Council this week, councillors said it still looked like a building site.

Speaking on North West Today, Leitrim Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan says the iconic building should be put to some use:
