Lifeguard needed on Tullan Strand



A Donegal Cllr has called for a lifeguard to be put in place at Tullan Strand in Bundoran.

FG Cllr Barry O’Neill made the calls following an incident already this month where three people got into difficulty at the beach.

Councillor O’Neill says this beach is a well known danger spot for swimmers.

He says it should not be up to the surfing community to always be responding to these incidents:

Responding to these calls today, Cillian O Kelly, of the Turf and Surf School in Bundoran agrees that some kind of presence is needed on Tullan Strand.

Last year, members of a football team who were training on the beach got into trouble.

A soldier also lost his life in the water there.
