Drennan and Twardek set for Rovers debuts on Sunday as McCabe returns

Sligo Rovers travel to Wicklow on Sunday to take on Bray Wanderers in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division, kick-off 4pm in the Carlisle Grounds.

Rovers go into the game in eighth place, looking for a third win of the season over the Seagulls, following 2-1 wins in the two matches so far.

In team news, Gary Boylan had surgery on cruciate ligament injury during the week.

Adam Morgan remains out with an abdominal problem.

Mikey Drennan is eligible for the first time after signing for the club last month. Kris Twardek joined the Bit O’ Red this week and has received international clearance today.

Gerard Lyttle said: “Kris coming to the club is an exciting move, and a very good sign that we’ve been able to attract a player of his pedigree. There were a lot of people I spoke to that we’re surprised he was released by Millwall. We’re all looking forward to getting him started and on the pitch, so he’ll be in the squad at least.

“Mikey has had a couple of weeks of training and really he needs game time for the next stage of getting up to full speed. He’s raring to go and it’s a great lift to have him in the squad. Rhys McCabe was missing last weekend and he’s a big player for us.

“We’ve been playing well and even last Saturday against Waterford, the team sitting third in the league, there was nothing in the game.

“We conceded stupid goals and it frustrated the players in the aftermath. They weren’t goals that opened us up. They were just set plays and normally we’re very clued into that.

“We’ve been back at it this week and we’re really determined to go there and get a positive performance. We want to win games and get us up the table.

“It has been documented the issues Bray have had this week and everyone wants to see it resolved. It’s difficult for all involved.

“But our focus is our own preparations; we can’t let that enter into our approach. We’re expecting to get a tough game like St Pat’s had in a defeat there, like Waterford did in two draws their recently, and we’ll have to reproduce the performances on the road we’ve had to get the win we want.”
