Taoiseach denies claims that rural areas in Co Donegal could be left empty



The Taoiseach has denied claims that rural areas of Co Donegal will be left empty if the government doesn’t step in.

Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle told the Dail this week that small businesses will close if they are not given more support.

A recent survey conducted by the Killybegs based TD revealed local businesses in Donegal are concerned about depopulation and the threatened closures of garda stations and post offices.

But speaking in the Dail, Leo Varadkar said things in Co Donegal are improving as unemployment decreases….
