New pilot bus service starts in Kinlough tonight as part of rural isolation initiative



A new rural night-time bus service will start between north Leitrim and south Donegal from tonight.

The Local Link service is part of the Department of Transport’s new pilot programme to tackle rural isolation.

This pilot programme by the Minister for Transport Shane Ross is being rolled out in 19 counties including Donegal where four night-time services already started in June.

Tonight’s service will bring people from Kinlough into Ballyshannon via Bundoran with four services each way on Friday and Saturday nights.

Meanwhile, four of these night-time services are already up and running in county Donegal.

They include a service between Glencolmcille and Donegal Town that travels via Killybegs and runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
