Sunday’s Sligo Stages Rally is postponed due to extreme weather conditions

Organisers the Connacht Motor Club have opted to cancel Sunday’s planned Sligo Stages Rally due to the extremely warm weather over the past two weeks.

Melting tar due to the heatwave has left roads unfit for rally driving, and organisers have made the difficult decision to postponed the event with the hope of finding a new date for the event in the motorsport calendar.

Sunday week, July 15, may offer a potential window of opportunity as a new date for the event according to organisers, who say they will consult with key stakeholders and issue a further statement on Wednesday.
