Sligo Councillor Sinead Maguire has said she will decide in the next 48 hours whether or not she will put her name forward for the Fine Gael selection convention.
The Sligo/Leitrim convention takes place on July 19th in the Clayton Hotel in Sligo, when up to 1000 delegates will have the chance to vote.
Last week, the contest lost one of its most high profile candidates, as Sligo/Leitrim TD Tony McLoughlin announced his retirement from politics.
