A man has appeared in court charged with assault as a result of an attack on an elderly man in Sligo town.
The incident occurred at a house at River Road on the morning of June 20th last.
The man has been charged with offences relating to assault causing harm, taking a vehicle without the consent of the owner and theft.
He was remanded in custody to appear again in court later.
