Drumcliffe/Rosses Point GAA Club Notes

Sunday, July 1st, 2018

Our senior men’s footballers suffered a heavy home defeat against an in-form Curry side on Sunday evening (5-12 to 0-11). It’s a result which leaves us bottom of the Division 1 table. We now need a win in our final league match against St Mary’s to give ourselves a chance of avoiding relegation.

Our junior team were also well beaten by Easkey last Monday evening. They remain fourth in Division 4.

Big congrats to Benbulben Gaels hurlers Patrick O’Connor, Tola Carway, Patrick McGowan and Blaine Watters who were part of the Sligo U17 hurling team which won the Celtic Challenge Michael Feery cup in Tullamore last Saturday with victory over Donegal in the final.

Hard luck to the Benbulben Gaels U14 hurlers who were beaten by Tourlestrane in the league final last Monday. On the plus side, the U12 hurlers recorded a victory over Western Gaels on Thursday evening last.

Our Saturday morning GAA nursery will continue up to and including Saturday July 14th before taking a summer break. Coaching will then resume towards the end of August.

The Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp for boys and girls aged 6-13 years takes place at Oxfield from July 16-20th. You can register your child online via drp.gaa.ie or contact our local Cúl Camp co-oridnator Mary Power on 0876288718.

Good luck to our U12 girls footballers who play Curry in their opening championship match this Friday evening at Oxfield at 7pm.

Tickets for the club’s new Lotto Draw 2018-2019 will be going on sale in the coming weeks. We are looking for parents/supporters from our various teams and age groups who would be willing to assist in the distribution/selling of the new lotto tickets to club members. If you can help out, please contact any club officer, or phone Treasurer Mary Carway on 0864181201.
