A Leitrim councillor has accused his local authority of being undemocratic.
On Friday, Leitrim County Council selected Fianna Fails Sean McGowan as the new cathaoirleach and Fine Gael Cllr. Frank Dolan as the new leas-cathaoirleach.
There’s a pact in place, which means the Chair and Vice Chair are choosen on a rota basis each year.
But Indepedent Cllr. Des Guckian claims this totally undemocratic, and he walked out of Friday’s AGM….
But the new Leitrim County Council Chairman, Cllr Sean McGowan, said Cllr Guckian walking out of the meeting was nothing more than a ‘stunt’…..
