HSE to appraise Donegal Town’s Cleary Centre proposal next month



A Donegal TD has welcomed confirmation that a decision is to be made soon by the HSE on an application for funding for the redevelopment of the Cleary Centre in Donegal Town.

The HSE’s Estates Department is expected to examine proposals for the centre at its next meeting in July.

The Centre caters for those will intellectual disabilities.

More than two years ago, the centre moved from the Clar Road to the Victor Building in Lurganboy, on the outskirts of Donegal Town, on a temporary basis.

However, Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty says it has always been the goal to have the former Cleary Centre rebuilt and its services returned to that facility.

He told North West Today the latest news is welcome, particularly when considering an earlier setback that occurred earlier this year:
