Unanimous decision against closure of Ballyshannon Fire Station



Twenty-two of the 37 elected members of Donegal County Council have unanimously decided to reject a recommendation to close Ballyshannon Fire Station.

Instead, at a special meeting in Lifford yesterday afternoon, they called for two new fire stations to be built, one in Ballyshannon, the other in Bundoran.

Councillors now want the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government to immediately provide the funding for the two new stations.
