Ambulance service ‘in crisis’ in Donegal



A Donegal TD says that the ambulance service in the county is in crisis.

Independent TD Thomas Pringle says there are just two ambulances serving the south of the county.

However, he says these are often caught up for hours if they bring a patient to the hospital in Letterkenny.

The National Ambulance Service is understood to now be carrying out a review of the service in south Donegal.

Deputy Pringle says recently a vital relief crew based in Killybegs needs to be reinstated.

He says the fact that recently an ambulance from Manorhamilton had to cover a call up in Dungloe shows the scale of the problem:
