Ireland 2040 climate change plan to reduce agriculture emissions



A new fund to tackle climate change is launching today coming on the heels of a report that ranks Ireland as the 2nd worst EU nation at tackling climate change.

It’s part of the Ireland 2040 Plan and aims to reduce carbon emissions in agriculture with the theme of ‘Empowering Communities for Climate Change’.

Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed spoke at the event where he said it is a ‘societal objective’ for communities to reduce our carbon emission output.

€22b is to spent over the next decade to tackle climate change across the board with Minister Creed acknowledging the fact that Irelands overal emissions have increased.

Minister Creed says ‘how we farm is important’.
