Sligo-man cycling the length of the UK for charity

A Sligo cyclist is among a group of seven that are undertaking a charity challenge to cycle the 1,600km from England’s most southerly point ‘Land’s End’ to Scotland’s most northerly point ‘John O’Groats’ between today and Sunday.

Pat Murtagh from Tubbercurry will join Kiltimagh’s Gary Smyth and Gary Bigley, Colm Carney from Bohola, Jonathan Verry from Crossmolina, Gerry Boots from Armagh and Alan Heaney from Killasser for the gruelling four-day, ultra-cycling challenge.

The cycle will raise much-needed funds for three charities – Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, North West Simon Community and Western Care.
