Sligo’s crunch football and hurling championship fixtures set for the same day

Sligo’s senior footballers and hurlers will be in championship action on the same day on the weekend after next.

The footballers have been drawn at home to Armagh in the Qualifiers and that game has been fixed for 6pm on Saturday evening in Markievicz Park.

Sligo had requested that game was fixed for the Sunday, as the county’s hurlers are in action in the Lory Meagher Cup final against Lancashire in Croke Park at 12 noon on the same day, making it difficult for the county’s GAA fans to attend both games.

Donegal are also in action in Croke Park that day, with their hurlers facing Warwickshire at 4pm.

The county’s footballers will play Fermanagh in the Ulster final the following day.

Meanwhile, Leitrim’s Qualifier game against Louth has also been fixed for Saturday week at 7pm in Carrick-on-Shannon.
