Over 20 members of a traveller family have held a silent protest outside the Sligo County Council offices this morning.
The protest coincides with a planning application coming before Sligo County Councillors regarding the Glenview Halting site on Ash Lane..
Councillors will be asked today to consider the plan to divide the site in 2, renovate 6 halting bays and create a new entrance there.
Sligo County Council have not confirmed who would eventually move into the site but it’s claimed the plan is for the McGinley family from Connaughton road carpark to move there.
These members of the McGinley family have told Ocean FM news that they will not be moving into the Glenview Halting Site under no circumstances….
