Members of the Traveller Community are holding a silent protest outside Sligo County Council on Monday.
It’s to coincide with a planning application coming before Sligo County Councillors regarding the Glenview Halting site on Ash Lane in Sligo town.
Councillors will be asked to consider the plan to divide the site in 2, renovate 6 halting bays and create a new entrance on the other side of this 2.4 acre site.
Sligo County Council have not confirmed who would eventually move into the site but it’s claimed the plan is for the McGinley family from Connaughton road carpark to move there.
