Part of Sligo to Geevagh road is closed after truck goes off R284

A vehicle has gone off the R284 road again between Sooey and Geevagh in east County Sligo.

This time it’s an articulated truck.

The section of the road between Conway’s Cross and Geevagh is closed, and is expected to remain so for a few hours.

Gardai are urging motorists to drive with caution as they approach Conway’s Cross from the Sligo side and Geevagh from the Ballyfarnon side.

Meanwhile, there’s also been an accident at Carrickbanagher, just off the N4 at the Drumfin junction, between Collooney and Castlebaldwin.

Again, motorists are advised to drive carefully in the area.
