Sligo no match for Galway in Salthill

Sligo’s Connacht Championship campaign came to an end after a 21-point defeat to a rampant Galway side at Pearse Stadium in Salthill.

The Tribesmen led from start to finish and were good value for the win, with Sean Kelly netting their opening goal just before half-time as the home side led by 1-15 to 0-6 at half-time.

Three more goals followed in the second half through Ian Burke and the outstanding Damien Comer, who netted twice, as Galway eased in to a Connacht final against Roscommon.

Kyle Cawley got a goal for the Yeats men in the early stages of the second half, but Galway ran out 4-24 to 1-12 winners.
